This Saturday, March 26, there was an auction at Carré d’art and a show at the Bernadette Lafont theater, for the benefit of Ukrainian refugees.
The “Together for Ukraine” day, proposed by the city of Nîmes, raised 65,000 euros, which will be donated to the Red Cross. Saturday morning, there was an auction at Carré d’art, then in the evening, a concert at the Bernadette-Lafont theatre.
“The people of Nîmes have always shown great generosity in important moments. Once again, I was amazed by their unfailing mobilization and I thank them warmly. Solidarity is a strong value of our city. funds collected during this day will be donated to the French Red Cross to help the Ukrainian people affected by the war”, welcomes Jean-Paul Fournier, mayor of Nîmes.
In the evening, 600 people came to attend the solidarity concert mixing, for two hours, classical music, jazz and current music, for an overall receipt of €16,000. “I would like to thank all the participants and all those who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of this day of support for the Ukrainian people. There are extraordinary situations that require extraordinary commitment. This solidarity must now continue. in other forms because the war continues”, concludes Sophie Roulle, deputy delegate for culture.
