LOn June 18, 2020, the European Parliament decided to create a special committee to study foreign interference in European affairs. The Social Democrat MEP Raphaël Glucksmann, one of its initiators, took over the presidency. Interference by so-called hostile powers is a delicate subject and can take various forms: interference in electoral processes, disinformation, espionage, computer attacks, direct and indirect financial support to factionists, to hybrid threats such as the instrumentalisation of migration networks in the goal of destabilizing a country, like the attempts of the Belarusian regime of Lukashenko.
