With the arrival of a new extension, we often have the right to a new class or a new game mechanic. Well, for High Isle, it’s a new mechanic, Tales of Glory, which has been added! In this article, we explain everything there is to know about this subject.
To play Tale of Glory on The Elder Scrolls Online, the first thing to do is to trigger a series of quests that will teach you how to play, allow you to acquire your first decks and introduce you to the ranking system that takes place in the new play area.
To do this, you will have to go to the largest city in the Hautes-Îles, namely Gonfalon Bay. Once you are there, go to the level of the large building which is to the south of the city and that we have indicated on the map below.
Once you get to the fountain level in front of this building, you will hear an NPC discussing Tales of Glory. Go talk to him and it triggers the questline that will allow you to start playing this card game.
To win a Tale of Glories game, you have two options available to you. The first one, is to succeed in accumulating 40 power points by playing cards during the game. The first who ends his turn by exceeding this famous bar of 40 points wins.
The other possibility to achieve victory is to succeed in fulfilling the objectives requested by all the mentors who are on the right of the board. If you ever manage to curry favor with all of these mentors, that’s a win. Since then, this gives you several options in terms of strategy.
As for the game mechanics, it is based on the purchase of cards that have four different colors depending on the mentors that have been chosen at the start of the game. The goal will then be make summoning combos to stock up on gold, power points or simply effects.
What we therefore advise you is to limit yourself to one or even two colors in your card purchases. This will allow you to more easily make combos which will ultimately allow you to win more easily against your opponent.
The decks that we offer you at the beginning are only basic decks, but it is possible to find new cards that are more powerful but above all rarer. For this, you have several solutions available to you. The first is to complete quests related to Tales of Glory.
Otherwise, you will occasionally get in your victory rewards following part of the treasure map sorts which will tell you places where you can go to find improved versions of your cards that you can then add to your game.
