Game News Summer Game Fest 2022: Capcom invites to a big announcement around Dragon’s Dogma, a trailer for the 10th anniversary of the game!
The half hour of announcements from Capcom went by at breakneck speed. However, if the Japanese publisher has above all focused on the most important licenses in its catalog, Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, it had kept a small place for a franchise that has been dormant for some time now: Dragon’s Dogma. No spectacular revelation, but an appointment that raises the hype!
A sequel ten years later?
It took a decade, and growing popularity over the years, for the license Dragon’s Dogma suddenly talk about her! Well, not quite yet. It’s been three years now that the publisher gives the feeling of preparing the ground for this highly anticipated return: a port on Nintendo Switch in April 2019, a universe that was just waiting to expand in the hands of Netflix thanks to an animated series and a publisher who said he was ready to support the sequel to this action-RPG fantastic.

All this took time, of course, and we feel that something is going on behind the scenes. On the occasion of the title’s tenth anniversary, a message was posted by Hideaki Itsuno inviting us to take part in upcoming festivities around the license. As a result, all eyes quickly turned to the event organized by Capcom, which seemed to be the perfect place to serve as the setting for the celebrations mentioned by the director of the Devil May Cry games. Unfortunately, this was not the case, but it is only a postponement. And very soon, what’s more!
Dragon’s Dogma wants to be the only one to shine
It would therefore seem that Dragon’s Dogma don’t want to be upstaged. If we do not yet know what it is precisely, Hideaki Itsuno still came to pass a head during the Capcom showcase to launch the invitations himself. In honor of ten years of the game, a digital event entirely dedicated to the franchise will take place in the coming days: namely on the night of Thursday June 16 to Friday June 17 at midnight sharpand on the Dragon’s Dogma YouTube channel as well as the Capcom USA YouTube channel.
To mark the occasion of this announcement, a trailer was released to pay tribute to the tenth anniversary of the open-world action game, as well as related projects in the universe of Dragon’s Dogma. So, simple announcement of a remake / remaster on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S or the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2? Bets are off pending the end of the story from the Game Director’s own mouth.
About the Summer Game Fest
What is Summer Game Fest?
No E3 this year, but we can still count on another world-class event: the Summer Game Fest, a big show dedicated to announcements of video games to come this year or the following years. It was in 2020 that journalist and host Geoff Keighley launched this now unmissable festival for the first time. Last year, the show featured stunning images from Elden Ring; so inevitably, the third iteration raises high expectations.
When does Summer Game Fest 2022 start?
The Summer Game Fest is this Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m. The show will once again be followed by a Day of the Devs session devoted to the independent scene.
How to follow the Summer Game Fest 2022?

What is the program for Summer Game Fest 2022?
Among the games not to miss, there is in particular the heir to Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol, which shows us its first gameplay images. For its part Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 presents us with its first level. Also on the program: Gotham Knights, Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, the first game from Aaryn Flynn’s studio (ex-Bioware) Nightingale, the JRPG One Piece Odyssey, the free-to-play Warframe or even Planet of Lana. Geoff Keighley further announced: “We have a few new game announcements for this show and hopefully a few surprises if all goes well. But it’s definitely a show that mostly focuses on things that are foretold.”
