A vast open-world, but sufficiently filled?
We had to be patient to have the opportunity to dive into the heart of the lands of Sonic Frontiers. The ambitious title of SEGA has been talked about for quite a while and, until now, we had only been treated to a light trailer broadcast during the Game Awards ceremony. Although he’s fast, Sonic doesn’t like to skip the steps and it’s very gently that the communication around the game is activated. Thanks to our colleagues at IGN, we have the chance to discover some aspects of the title. Barely 48 hours ago, it was the whole open world that stole the show from the hedgehog, even if it was well put forward!
In addition to a series of magnificent panoramas, we discovered how much Sonic could express his speed there, and also how much the open world made sure to give him enough means to explore its every corner. If we were able to take pleasure in observing Sonic doing what he knows how to do best, that is to say running at full speed, we were also able to identify what we should do there, even if the fear of going around in circles and running out of activities was felt. To convince us, SEGA wanted to strike hard today and it is its champion who strikes the first blow!
