Released in the West a short week ago, Ni no Kuni Cross Worlds immediately caught the eye of fans of the license. Developed by Netmarbles, it is a free-to-play MMORPG available on both mobile and PC. But the most observant went to visit the official site, and we had a funny surprise.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds has arrived in advance, since the date displayed on the blinds only mentioned a release on June 30. So much the better for the players who were waiting for it, and who were therefore able rubbing shoulders earlier than expected with this new adventure.
A visually striking MMO with limited gameplay?

Indeed, the players who went for a ride on the official site of the game discovered that there was a system for converting in-game currency (Territe) into cryptocurrencywhich does not appear and is not mentioned in game. Netmarble thus plans to integrate the game into its platform MARBLEX in order to allow exchanges of crypto-assets between players. A system already active for A3: Still Alive, which offers “play to win” mechanics since a few months.
Territe can therefore be accumulated through various activities and then converted to Territe Token (NKT). The NKT can then be traded, resold, or stored outside of Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. The studio even encourages the practice, stating that the maximum amount of Territe you can accumulate each day depends on class level and character level. In other words, farming is key for those interested. Same system for Asterite, PvP currency, which can be converted.

In addition to the integration of a crypto-currency in game, which is already debated, players mainly complain about the great discretion shown by Netmarble by avoiding talking about it in game. But that’s not all! In effect, a quick look at the game’s roadmap reveals that in the fourth quarter of 2022, NFTs will be introduced. We do not yet know how or at what price, but teeth are already gnashing, especially since all this seems planned only for the West, the practice being, for the moment, prohibited in South Korea.
