Live Feed Kirby, Mario Kart, Mario Strikers… We summarize all the Nintendo Direct Switch announcements
After Sony and its State of Play, it’s Nintendo’s turn to delight the hearts of fans with a new Nintendo Direct. On the program, a rain of announcements for 40 minutes! To not miss any of this, we offer you a Live Feed. We wish you all a good time!
Surprises… many surprises
Well… now that the Nintendo Direct is over and we’ve digested all the announcements, what can we say is that this conference was particularly successful. The latter also got off to a flying start with the announcement of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a muso that will take place in the world of Three Houses. It invites players to find the emblematic heroes of the saga to knock out enemies by the dozens. Everything looks beautiful, fluid, dynamic and will arrive on June 24th, so what more could you ask for?
But that’s not all, three other surprises were revealed during this Nintendo Direct, starting with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 who chose to close the conference to present us with its vast world, its two heroes (Noah and Mio) and even its release date. Indeed, the RPG will be released in September on Nintendo’s hybrid machine.
The third surprise lies in the presentation of Nintendo Switch Sports, a game that we did not really expect, but which is still fun. Indeed, just like its elder, the game aims to bring together members of the same family around a fun and easy-to-learn experience. The game taking into account the recognition of the movements of the Joy-Con will offer at its launch – which will take place on April 29 – six sports: bowling, volleyball, badminton, tennis, football and fencing. Note that the game will also be entitled to new activities over time thanks to updates, since a Golf mode has already been announced.
But in the end, what we really remember is the great return of a cult license, we named Mario Strikers. After a first episode on GameCube and a second on Wii, Mario and his friends are back on their feet for a third episode called Mario Strikers: Battle League Football. Like the previous opuses, the title is a “football” game where all shots are allowed and which opposes two teams of five players. This particularly promising new opus will offer a local mode bringing together up to eight players simultaneously and is expected for June 10 on Nintendo Switch. On our side, we are really looking forward to it!
Not Mario Kart 9, but just like
Despite persistent rumors, there was no Mario Kart 9 at the conference, however fans of the saga will still be in heaven. Indeed, Nintendo has announced an Additional Tracks Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which includes a total of 48 tracks from old Mario Kart titles. Everything will be available “free” for all owners of a Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack or at $ 24.99, which let’s face it, is an attractive price.
The 48 circuits will be sent in waves of 8. The first wave, expected for March 18, will include Coco Supermarket (Wii), Choco Mountain (N64) and Tokyo Crossing Tower (iOS).
That’s not all, during the event, a major competitor has come to compete against Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this is Disney Speedstorm. This free-to-play kart game will be available on all gaming platforms this summer. It will allow players to race on magnificent colorful circuits while controlling the stars of Disney-Pixar, starting with Mickey and Donald, but also Sully from Monsters & Cie…
Dozens of release dates
If Splatoon 3 and Kirby and the Forgotten World obviously gave their news with new gameplay videos, this Nintendo Direct also took the opportunity to set many release dates. Triangle Strategy is scheduled for March 4, MLB The Show 22 for April 5, Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp for March 8, and Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course for June 30. The program is loaded.
This summer, we can also count on the presence of Splatoon 3, but also FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake and No Man’s Sky.
