Game news Call of Duty: And if the license went to the RPG in the open world?

So that, we honestly did not expect it. In recent weeks, we have talked a lot about Call of Duty, whether for the event with Kong and Godzilla, the presentation of Modern Warfare II or the first information on Warzone 2.0, but we did not imagine that, potentially, the license could explore something other than the first person shooter.

Infinity Ward is reportedly working on an open-world RPG

Call of Duty: And if the license went to the RPG in the open world?

For a few weeks, it has been whispered that Activision-Blizzard would like to try something else with the Call of Duty license. However, despite the years and an incalculable number of titles, the license is still doing very well, despite some disappointments depending on the opus. One would therefore think that the developers of the various studios evolve everything by small touchesbut not that they could try to design a totally different title.

Specifically, things seem to be going from the side from Infinity Ward Poland, with the publication of a job offer that is very intriguing. Indeed, the studio is looking to recruit a narrative director for a AAA project yet to be announced, a director able to “to provide the best narrative and cinematic experience in an open-world RPG”.

A Call of Duty RPG or a new license? No track is to be excluded

Call of Duty: And if the license went to the RPG in the open world?

Yes, you read correctly, we are talking about an open-world role-playing game, developed within a studio that has only worked ONLY on Call of Duty. There are therefore only three possibilities: either Infinity Ward Poland works on brand new license and would leave Call of Duty in the hands of fellow Infinity War teams Raven and Sledgehammer, either the studio is designing a whole new kind of Call of Duty.

Last possibility, a link between this job offer and the inspired DMZ mode from Escape From Tarkov, which should arrive with Warzone 2.0. In the case where it is a new game from the Call of Duty license, we can imagine a title that would be more or less in the vein of the recent Ghost Recon, with a more extensive narration than usual? We will have to wait to have the end of this story but in the meantime, the bets are open.
