Game news Overwatch 2: a gift to collect before the next release of the game, but not for everyone
We were telling you about it yesterday: Overwatch 2 showed the tip of its nose yesterday during the Xbox Bethesda conference of the Summer Game Fest 2022. Blizzard published a video of about two minutes including various announcements before announcing a founder’s pack via a ticket on the game’s official website.
Overwatch 2 present at Summer Game Fest 2022
Last night was the Xbox/Bethesda conference of Summer Game Fest 2022. For 95 minutes, the publisher presented several games to come in the coming months, including highly anticipated games of its own such as Redfall or Starfield. Surprise guests also joined the party such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, Riot Games (League of Legends, Valorant]) or Blizzard.
A surprising guest whose presence at the event is justified by the historic agreement reached between Microsoft and Activision at the start of the year. Either way, Blizzard was definitely there. He took the opportunity to unveil the early access release of Overwatch 2 on October 4, its transition to free-to-play while announcing a new champion (The Queen of Junkers). But that’s not all.
A Founder’s Pack to collect for Overwatch owners
In addition to the trailer released last night (available above, in the header) summarizing the main information to know about Overwatch 2, Blizzard has published an article on its site providing some details. It indicates that a founder’s pack will be available for all players who purchased Overwatch first of the name before June 23, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. French time. A Founder’s Pack that contains two epic skins and an exclusive profile icon, “as well as a surprise gift that will be announced before the game’s release“. It must be collected before December 6, 2022 at 8:59 a.m. French time.
Overwatch 2, which will be released on October 4, free-to-play, on PC and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. More information about the title will be revealed during a global presentation hosted by Blizzard on next June 16. The game-service model, the seasonal content project, the 34th heroine of Overwatch (the Queen of the Junkers) or even the next phase of closed beta tests will be discussed there.
