As in the other narrative games of Supermassive Gamesyou will juggle between different characters in the story, linking interactive scenes and exploration. Most of the choices you make will have a more or less long-term impact on the rest of the game.
During exploration, you can move freely with your character in the area where you are. Remember to search carefully for clues, evidence and Tarot cards. 2 – Set your preferences
Before or during your game, you can change your preferences for different game mechanics like QTEs and interrupts. Head into Settings then Accessibility. Here you can choose whether you want to simplify your game depending on your desired gaming experience. Press any key to complete a QTE, auto-skip Hold Breath events, and more. 3 – Choose your path
As you progress through The Quarry, certain choices will take you down different paths. A Chosen path message then appears to let you know. Paths directly influence the story and alter scenes later in the game. It can be choosing to help a friend or run away, or picking up a teddy bear or not. You can find your different paths in the game menu. There really isn’t a wrong path. No matter how these play out, The Quarry will keep moving forward whether you’ve lost a character or not.
4 – Tarot cards
Tarot cards are very specific objects to find and are used to unlock visions with the clairvoyant during the interludes between each chapter. Visions that can give you a useful clue as to the survival of one or more characters. They are more difficult to find because you will often have to be in a specific location that is usually not on the main path. Also, the window to pick it up is small, the card only appears for a moment, and you have to press a button to pick it up. If you miss it, reloading your game can help. The scene will resume from the last auto-save.
5 – Unlock chapter selection
It is very possible that very quickly you will want to choose another line of dialogue or modify one of your important choices because you do not like it or because you are curious. If an automatic backup was performed, this is impossible at first. You will not be able to select a chapter to replay it only after completing the full story at least once. 6 – Cinema mode
