Whether the trailer released as part of the Summer Game Fest takes the time to install the paradox that is looming in The Alters, its concept still deserves some explanation. Taking place in a science fiction universe, The Alters should be like an investigation game through the point of view of a simple worker named Jan Dolski. This man’s life is about to change when he crash lands on an isolated planet, with no hope of survival. But Jan Dolski may not be as alone as he thinks…
Humans are the sum of their choices
In development for nearly three years by one of 11 bit Studios’ internal teams, mostly made up of the creators of This War of Mine, The Alters surprises. The player will have to accept the hypothesis that the future will offer us the possibility of creating alternate versions of ourselves. Kinds of alter ego with various characters with which we can interact to transform a single individual into a real starship crew!
They are not clones. They are alters, i.e. alternate versions of the same person. Each Quirk has a different set of skills, which are needed to succeed, but players must manage to take care of each one. And each of them has a unique personality, resulting from their unique life course. What is Summer Game Fest?
No E3 this year, but we can still count on another world-class event: the Summer Game Fest, a big show dedicated to announcements of video games to come this year or the following years. It was in 2020 that journalist and host Geoff Keighley launched this now unmissable festival for the first time. Last year, the show featured stunning images from Elden Ring; so inevitably, the third iteration raises high expectations.

The Summer Game Fest is this Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m. The show will once again be followed by a Day of the Devs session devoted to the independent scene.

What is the program for Summer Game Fest 2022?
