Last night during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase conference, the Atlus logo appeared on screen to announce what is a great surprise. Indeed, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are coming to Game Pass.
Persona is coming to Xbox!
We’ve been waiting for Persona 5 Royal to come to Nintendo Switch, but it’s finally on PC and Xbox consoles that the title will arrivealongside the ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4: Golden, for its part available on Steam since 2020. The first two games will arrive in 2023 in the Game Passwhile Persona 5 Royal will arrive on October 21 next. Derived from the Shin Megami Tensei series, which it clearly overshadows, the Persona license is therefore preparing to land in the Xbox ecosystem.
New exclusive ports? Well no !
And that’s all ? In the hours following the announcement, vagueness reigned, but things were finally clarified thanks to a press release, sent to our colleagues at Eurogamer. Despite the form of the ad, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royale will also be coming to Steam and PS5! In the case of Persona 4 Golden, things are a little fuzzy, since the title is already available alongside Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 4: Arena Ultimax, but for the rest, it will be a first. However, the press release specifies that the three titles have no release date on these media, which suggests a somewhat special temporary exclusivity for the Game Pass.
An official French localization for Persona 3 and Persona 4?
Another question arises regarding these ports: Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will they be entitled to an official French localization on this occasion, like Persona 5 Royal. We asked the question and, at the moment, Xbox does not have more information about it. Let us take advantage of the subject to recall that the Steam Persona 4 Golden version has an excellent FR patch made by enthusiasts Golden Project. There were about twenty of them, and they took 8 months to translate more than 1.7 million words!

In a world where the covid-19 pandemic has not happened, Microsoft’s conference would take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, this world does not exist, and Microsoft is organizing its online conference this Sunday at 7 p.m. The show should last 1h30.
