news culture Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi: Who is Quinlan Vos?

We are starting to get used to it, Star Wars productions are more and more linked to each other. Episode 3 of Obi-Wan Kenobi must have delighted some The Clone Wars fans with the mention of a character well known to our Jedi master.

Quinlan Vos, an unconventional Jedi

Quinlan Vos is a Jedi Master from the planet Kiffu, which we have already been able to meet in the animated series The Clone Wars, as well as in various novels and comics. He grew up in the Jedi Temple alongside Obi-Wan, where he became his friend. Jedi breaking with the traditional image of the latter, he did not hesitate to break the code as Anakin Skywalker was able to do. He has a special gift, psychometrics, which allows you to know the history of an object by touching it. This is the same power used by Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series taught us that Quinlan Vos had survived Order 66.. Quinlan being in a way the Rambo of Star Wars does not seem so surprising after all.

Jedi who survived Order 66, for how long?

Besides the fact that Quinlan is still alive, we also learned thathe is part of a rebel cell that helps Force-sensitive children hide from the Empire. They are on the planet Jabiim, which appears to be the next stop in Obi-Wan’s journey. It is possible that we will come across other surviving Jedi in the second half of the series.

This raises a question as to the future of these Jedi in a universe where Obi-Wan and Yoda are supposed to be the last representatives of the Order at the time of the Original Trilogy. The challenge of expanding the Star Wars universe lies in the need for new productions to remain consistent with the films. There are only two possibilities to solve this overpopulation of Jedi: either Yoda was wrong (after all, he exiled himself in a swamp cut off from everything), either all these brave survivors will end up meeting a tragic end (and heroic, we hope for them).
