The year 2023 promises to be already loaded with Star Wars projects. In addition to the new season of The Mandalorian, one of the most anticipated series is of course the one dedicated to the character of Ahsoka Tano. Release date, script, casting… the HelloSolar.info editorial staff takes stock of the Star Wars Ahsoka series scheduled for Disney+.

When is the Star Wars: Ahsoka series release date?

As of now (June 2022), the Star Wars: Ahsoka series still doesn’t have a specific release date. We know, however, that it will come out in 2023 after the third season of The Mandalorian. The latter will open the ball of Star Wars productions of the year. In any case, filming for the series began on May 9, 2022 and was announced on social media via a simple photo of the director’s seat with Dave Filoni’s famous cowboy hat on it.

No need for a release date to know that you will have to go to the Disney+ SVOD platform to enjoy the Star Wars: Ahsoka series. You can find all the Star Wars content there. It’s highly likely that Disney will create a special Ahsoka Tano playlist shortly before the series airs, as was the case recently with the series centered on the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is not yet known how many episodes the series will have.

Who is Ahsoka Tano?

Ahsoka Tano is the ancient Jedi with white lightsabers encountered in the Live Action series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. However, it was in The Clone Wars series that she made her debut. She becomes Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan there and follows him on many missions during the galactic conflict. She left the Jedi Order shortly before the end of the war, following her expulsion for a crime she did not commit. She narrowly survives Order 66 and eventually joins the Rebellion as a secret agent under the codename Fulcrum.

Ahsoka is a spin-off of The Mandalorian seriesand proceeds in parallel, i.e. five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. During her appearance in The Mandalorian, we learn that Ahsoka Tano is looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn, thus announcing part of the plot of the new series. Like The Book of Boba Fett, Star Wars: Ahsoka could span multiple eras over episodes via flashbacks to further cover the famed warrior’s life.

What is the synopsis of the Star Wars: Ahsoka series?

The plot has not yet been revealed, but it seems that the story takes the epilogue of Star Wars Rebels as a starting point. Ahsoka Tano and The Mandalorian Sabine Wren set off to the far reaches of the galaxy in search of Jedi Ezra Bridger who sacrifices himself to save his planet at the end of the animated series . The missing Grand Admiral Thrawn may well be the main antagonist of the series. It is also possible that our heroines will encounter other threats during their adventures.

Who are the creatives behind the Star Wars: Ahsoka series?

The director’s chair is occupied by none other than Dave Filoni. George Lucas’ Padawan is also a writer and producer on the series. Ahsoka Tano is the creation of Dave Filoni. It therefore went without saying that he himself supervises the series dedicated to this key character. We don’t know much about the rest of the technical team, except that his friend Jon Favreau is also a producer of the series. With such a duo at the controls, the series seems promised to a future as bright as its elder … The Mandalorian.

What is the cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka?

Since season 2 of The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson is Ahsoka Tano’s interpreter for live action projects. It therefore logically resumes the role. We also know that Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society) will play Mandalorian Sabine Wren. Hayden Christensen is also there, probably in the form of the ghost of Anakin Skywalker. Three other names have been confirmed for casting in roles that are still unknown: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds of Prey), Ray Stevenson (Thor) and Ivanna Sakhno.

During Star Wars Celebration, Disney revealed that pilot Hera Syndulla and her trusty droid Chopper will also take part in the adventure. It is unknown, however, who will slip into the costume. The same goes for the characters of Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn, who will undoubtedly be present, but whose interpreters are still unknown.

What are the “Star Wars” contents to discover to properly approach the Ahsoka series?

The animated series The Clone Wars is an opportunity to get to know Ahsoka Tano better and see her transformation from fearless Padawan to true leader under the tutelage of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Announced for this fall during Star Wars Celebration, the animated miniseries Tales of the Jedi is also in our recommendations. Three of the six episodes are dedicated to her and will focus on key moments in Ahsoka’s life. Finally, we advise you to take a detour through the series star wars rebels. We discover the other essential characters of the new Disney production with Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla in the first line. The series also provides a glimpse of the quest undertaken by our heroine in 2023.
