The PS VR2 in the spotlight in Resident Evil Village

When Resident Evil VII was released in 2017, it did very well: not only did it establish itself as a real revival for the franchise thanks to a return to horror and a first-person camera, but it was also compatible with the PlayStation VR. What had traumatized more than one, moreover.

Well aware that the functionality was lacking in Resident Evil Village, Capcom has therefore worked to satisfy the players: the State of Play organized by Sony last night therefore formalized compatibility with the PlayStation VR2, the brand new virtual reality headset from the Japanese firm. Be careful though, the feature will therefore only be offered on PS5!

A trailer that fucks the willies

And to announce this excellent news, what could be better than a trailer in good and due form? The trailer thus allows us to have a rendering of the immersion that we imagine quite insane, especially since the helmet embeds certain technologies to reinforce the atmosphere: haptic feedback directly in the helmet, or even much more instinctive controllers than before, which may well make all the difference. The game will also exploit the eye tracking of the PS VR2,

We will also note a new gameplay ability, namely the possibility of having a weapon in each hand, whether fire or white; likewise, we could raise our arms (for real, with the pads) to protect ourselves from enemy attacks. As a result, the fights may be more nervous and that shouldn’t be too much, since the stresses during certain phases could well disarm some, in the figurative sense.

No release date is unfortunately given, but it will not be long.
