news tip Dislyte: You don’t understand what APs are for? We will explain everything to you

When building your teams on Dislyte, you must have noticed that some characters offer to increase or reduce the AP of different characters. If you don’t understand what it is, we explain everything you need to know about this extremely important stat.

In our guide to building a team on Dislyte, we talked about the crucial importance of so-called “support” or “support” characters. If the latter do not do much damage to your opponents, they have the advantage of being able to apply improvements to your team, or to put a spoke in the wheels of your opponents. Some of them also have the ability to increase the PA of your allies, or reduce those of your enemies. They are not the only ones to influence this statistic, since many runes offer the same result. But then, what are APs and what are they used for? We reveal everything you need to know in our guide.

The BA-BA of PAs

Dislyte: You don't understand what APs are for? We will explain everything to you

Some of you may have already guessed that AP is actually the abbreviation for Action Points. It is in fact thanks to these that you can attack or cast spells with your Espers. In combat, the AP gauge is displayed at the bottom of your screen as a horizontal line where are placed the icons of each character of the fight to indicate the order in which they will play.

Once a character has accumulated enough AP, he will arrive at the very right of the horizontal line, and it will be up to him to play. When he has performed his action, his AP number will return to zero, and his icon will start on the far left of the bar. However, in combat, it is possible that the number of AP of certain characters does not change at the same speed as the others, and therefore that the order of passage changes as the turns go by.

This is indeed what Espers are for, which can influence the AP or Speed of other characters, and this is why they are extremely important. Indeed, let’s say you have enough to both boost your AP and reduce those of your opponents, you will be able to play much more often than them and thus chain attacks without them being able to defend themselves. But Espers aren’t the only ones who can change your characters’ Speed.

Indeed, the Speed, or “VIT” in the statistics, corresponds to the number of AP that a character will gain each turn. The higher the stat, the more AP he will gain between two of his attacks. And if again this stat can be improved or reduced directly in combat thanks to your characters, it can also be boosted passively thanks to your equipment and particularly your relics.

Our PA to PA guide

In order to help you properly optimize your teams and understand which Espers to choose and how to ensure that they have a lot of AP, we have prepared a list of all the elements that affect this stat. We also invite you to compare this list with our Tier List of all Espers to get a better idea of the effectiveness of the latter.

Espers that boost your AP

While you will certainly notice that most of the characters who change the AP number of allies or enemies are supports, this is not really the case for all of the Espers in the game. Here is the list of all the characters allowing you to increase the number of AP of your team:

Espers that remove AP

If you prefer to prevent your opponents from playing rather than multiplying your own actions, you should take a look at the list of all Espers that remove AP from their targets:

Relics that boost your Speed

Among all the relics available in the game, two sets stand out to improve your Speed, and therefore your AP. It’s about Windwalker Set and Astral Sorcery Set. The first allows you to get +25% Speed when completed, while the second will give you a Speed buff on your Espers when they are affected by neutralizations.

Note that if these two sets are obviously the best to directly improve your Speed, you can also completely boost your numbers thanks to any other relic provided you get the right stat.

Which characters should have a lot of Speed?

While Speed is obviously an important stat for all characters in the game, it’s not always about giving everyone that much. To help you optimize your Espers, know that those who will benefit the most from high speed will be those who apply buffs and debuffs to other characters. You will have understood, here again, we are talking about Supports, and Neutralizers. We therefore advise you to prioritize this stat on this kind of characters.
