Game News Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi: Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader) reveals his favorite moment from the prelogy
Returning to play Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Hayden Christensen took the opportunity to return to his role alongside Ewan McGregor. Present in films II and III of the prelogy, the interpreter of Anakin revealed his favorite sequence.
One of Star Wars fan favorite scenes
Hayden Christensen donned the iconic armor of the Sith Lord Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, almost twenty years after playing the iconic character in the prequel. This return was particularly well received by fans, to the delight of the actor who had suffered at the time from some harsh criticism regarding his performances. Since then, water has flowed under the bridges, and finally everyone is delighted with his return.
As part of the promotion of the series, Hayden Christensen had the time to comment several times on his role, as well as the films of the prelogy initiated in 1999 with The Phantom Menace. It was during a promotional video shot with his sidekick Ewan McGregor that the two performers were able to look back on their experience in Star Wars. As an actor but also as a fan of the franchise, Hayden Christensen obviously has a scene in particular that is close to his heart. A scene that remains emblematic for many fans today: the clash between Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar.
We got to Episode III and we had our big matchup against each other, that was the most awesome moment for me. I think we both took it very seriously too. In the end it was really fun, but it was also very intense and rewarding.
The two actors continue by also returning to their reunion, an exceptional moment for them.
Hayden Christensen: When I got a call and found out I was going to be back with (Ewan McGregor) to reunite these characters, it was mind blowing.
Ewan mcGregor: The day we both joined the set was an incredible moment.
A moving reunion for the two actors, therefore, that they had already been able to comment on before. Hayden Christensen had notably declared all his love for his friend.
Our reunion was amazing. We had a wonderful time together when we were working on the prequels, and we got really close, and he’s someone I have a lot of love for. Coming back to play those roles felt like time hadn’t passed. But obviously all those years had already passed, and so there was this almost surreal aspect that we found ourselves in, we couldn’t believe we were doing this.
After the particularly positive reception from fans and the press for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, as well as the willingness of the actors to continue the adventure for a season 2, we sincerely hope that this reunion can still continue.
