news culture MCU: do you want to know the next saga that is coming? Kevin Feige has the answer!
Difficult to pass after Infinity War and Endgame, the impressive conclusion of Phase 3 of the MCU. We are currently in phase 4, considered a transition period by the studio. According to its president, busy with the promotion of Thor 4, we are moving slowly but surely towards the next phase.
A phase of transition
the imposing The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity saga has had 22 films in eleven years, ending with the titanic Endgame. While almost everyone who had been missing for five years because of Thanos’ snapping his fingers has now come back to life, their return has caused further tension. Add to that the discovery of the multiverse and we get a beautiful fiasco, conducive to many adventures and revelation new heroes for phase 4 of the MCU.
If Marvel studios continue to release feature films in cinemas, they have at the same time largely focused on the small screen. The latter have also arrived en masse since the launch of the SVOD Disney + platform. If you’re having trouble grasping the connection between all the current Marvel productions, rest assured, everything should be cleared up soon. We are nearing the end of phase 4, which is a period of transition between the saga of the Infinite and that which will succeed it. According to Kevin Feige, the president and producer of Marvel Studios, we should soon start to see it.
Towards the next great MCU saga?
Giving an interview for Total Film, Kevin Feige said a little more about the future of the MCU. According to him, quite a few clues have already been scattered in the latest films and series. “We’re going to be a little more explicit about the direction of the saga over the next few months, creating a blueprint, so that audiences who want to see the big picture get a tiny glimpse of our route.”
The next production of the MCU at the cinema, Thor: Love and Thunderarrives in theaters on July 13, 2022. It seems a bit too early to match Kevin Feige’s indication. I am Groot and she hulk land on Disney+ on August 10 and 17, and the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever November 9, 2022. It’s hard to know what period covers “the next few months”, but scrutinizing these productions carefully can’t hurt. Whatever, Marvel’s agenda seems to be full for the next few yearsfrom the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy to Wonder Man via the Marvels or even the second season of Loki.
The next great MCU saga could therefore well occupy phase 5, prepared by the phase 4 productions that are currently served to us. Kang, discovered at the end of Loki, could he become Thanos’ successor? Will the new young superheroes form the Young Avengers, led by Spider-Man. There are a multitude of possibilities, and as many questions to which we hope to have answers soon.
