Now that Jurassic World: The World After has been out for several days, we return with the film team to the end of the work by Colin Trevorrow. What is the message of the film? How would the actors see the sequel? Would this sequel really be possible? We asked them our questions. Please note that this article contains spoilers relating to the conclusion of Jurassic World 3.

This article is a transcription of several interviews that took place on Friday, May 27, 2022. We were able to chat with the Jurassic World Dominion team by videoconference.
The end justifies the means
Finding a way to wrap up a saga like Jurassic Park is always tricky. Colin Trevorrow knows it. He and part of the cast of Jurassic World come back with us on the last minutes of the film.
HelloSolar.info: The end of Jurassic World is open. What would be the best possible outcome for you? Kill the dinosaurs? Let them make their nests where they want and learn to live with them?
Dewanda Wise : I think you just gave us the pitch, it’s great! The film will be called “Lost Dinosaurs in New York”. No just kidding. I think there’s still a lot to explore when you think about, you know, like in Jurassic World Dominion, this notion of dinosaurs living among us. Trevorrow touched on it a bit with Big Rock, where it’s like “oh yeah, you can go camping but your trip will be interrupted.” The concept alone is so vast and so rich in possibilities for exploration. Honestly, it would be about continuing on the same theme of how we could co-exist with these creatures.
Isabella Sermon : I like this movie because it’s interesting to see how humans interact with dinosaurs as they live in our world. So I guess in my dream sequel, dinosaurs will still be roaming free on our planet. I guess they will be able to live in peace with humans and we will all fit in. That would be really good.
Jeff Goldblum : I don’t want to reveal the ending to those who haven’t seen the movie, but at the end, the dinosaurs are still all over the globe. Good people, like our characters, have come together to fight the forces of ignorance and greed, the misuse of technology and powerful scientific experiments for foolish purposes that would harm the world, to creatures, and to us. So we fought and kind of won at the end of the movie. It looks like the dinosaurs will be left in a place where there is enough room for them to be safe and for us to be safe. You can’t interact with some animals, just like you can’t encroach on the environment of sharks or bears. They should have their own place, ideally. In the next film, I think someone will still have to make a fuss. Some people might think, “Let’s get down there, where the dinosaurs are safe, let’s do something to them.” The heroic people have to step in one more time and… ouch ouch ouch
They are among us
HelloSolar.info: If dinosaurs invaded our planet like in the movie, what would you do?
Colin Trevorrow : You know, I think at the end of the day, one thing you can see in this movie is that they are like today’s animals. Sometimes they get lost and wander around a city, if you go into their habitat they can eat you if you disturb their young. We said we had some as pets, a little girl feeds one in her hand at the end of the film. I think, in a way, I would encourage doing what we suggest the characters do at the end of the film: learn to coexist.
HelloSolar.info: And you Isabella, would you be as close to dinosaurs as the character you play?
Isabella Sermon : Nope ! I would be terrified, I would be so scared! What would I do ? I would probably hide in my basement and stock up on food. We can’t really get weapons to fight dinosaurs because they’re too big, they’d just eat us. I would probably die! Honestly, I wouldn’t have much luck.
HelloSolar.info: Can we foresee other Jurassic World films in the future?
Colin Trevorrow : I wanted to tell the end of this story that we have told for six films and bring it to a real conclusion, but also create a world that offers many possibilities for future filmmakers. Not to me, because I believe I said what I had to say about dinosaurs and I’m sure the public agrees. I’m curious what anyone else might have to say about dinosaurs.
HelloSolar.info: Jurassic World Dominion is a blockbuster, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a message to convey. What is the moral of the film in your opinion?
Isabella Sermon : I think what is shown is what can happen to the world if people continue to mistreat it. This can lead to its ruin. Thinking about climate change, I think that was an important message to show.
