Game News Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion: Let’s compare the PSP version and the remake trailer

Square Enix has announced the remake of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, the game released for PSP in 2007 in Japan. A YouTube channel compares the two versions for you.

Cycu1 is a regular youtube channel to publish comparisons between several versions of the same game. This time, she tackles Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7.

Two comparison videos for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion

Keep in mind that for now, no one has played Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. The remake hasn’t been released, and we haven’t seen gameplay of it yet. These comparisons are therefore based on the trailer we saw of the remake. Two videos have been published by Cycu1: the first takes several sequences from the trailer and the game for the compare between the PSP version and the remake trailer version. The second video compares a specific sequence, the famous “The Price of Freedom” scene, with versions of the PSP game, the remake trailer, and the Final Fantasy VII Remake game.

Crisis Core, a remake closer to the PSP version than FF 7 Remake

The compared images clearly show the important work on graphic improvement, it’s a “real” remake. Although we notice that the PSP version was far from ridiculous, the two remake versions are obviously much better graphically. The colorimetry of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion also seems closer to the original game on PSP than Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will feature a graphics and sound review. It will be released on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
