ATDuring the religious service in honor of her late husband, Prince Philip, which took place Tuesday morning at Westminster Abbey, the sovereign had chosen a green coat, her favorite tone, synonymous with hope and good health. It was also the color of the Duchy of Edinburgh, the title of her husband who died aged 99 last year. She wore a piece of jewelry close to her heart, a gold brooch set with a beetle-shaped ruby given to her by the duke.
The Queen arrived through a back door from Westminster Abbey leaning on a cane, in the arms of her youngest son, Prince Andrew. Admittedly frail, the arch very noticeable, Elizabeth II was determined to attend the religious service in person at all costs.
