Growing, Microids seems to have found a dynamic that suits it particularly well by taking old franchises, sometimes cult, to bring them up to date with a cartoon style. This goes through the remake box, as with the next Joe & Mac or Toki (released in 2019), but also through entirely original titles like Astérix & Obélix Baffez-les Tous !. It has just been made commercially available and for the occasion, an ultimate trailer has just been released.

Mr. Nutz Studio is a small studio in Lyon that is making a real name for itself in the video game landscape. To tell the truth, it is made up of veterans to whom we owe Mr. Nutz in 1992 and who no longer have much to learn, but the entity is slowly gaining ground: after delivering the nice overhaul of Toki two years ago, the company is now offering a new title taken from a legendary franchise, namely Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All !.

And after turning the game around in all directions, we can tell you without difficulty: it is a very good game. Microids undoubtedly understood, after episode XXL 3, that 3D was not what worked best for our good old Gauls and therefore returned to a decidedly old-school style, but much more punchy! So we have here a beat them all in 2D, playable in cooperation and drawing freely from the Street of Rage energy for a frankly pleasant and effective experience: the whole is particularly drawn by hand and can boast of devilishly respecting the spirit and the style of comics.

In short, if you are ever a fan of the genre and interested, know that Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All! is therefore available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch now. The Steam version will arrive on December 7th.
