Game news Battlefield 2042: DICE to tackle one of the title’s biggest bugs

Released a little over two weeks ago, Battlefield 2042 has been overwhelmingly very well received by critics. Unfortunately, when it was made available, there were a number of technical issues that angered gamers. DICE is working on fixing these issues, and one of the major bugs should be gone soon.

At launch, Battlefield 2042 suffered from various bugs including collision issues, PC optimization issues, visual issues and physics engine aberrations. A lot of the issues have already been fixed with a big patch, but some major bugs are still present in the title.

A bug fix eagerly awaited by players

The DICE studio is obviously aware of the bugs facing its game, and is working to correct them. One of the most important is that in which a player appears in-game simply invisible. An advantage that is obviously not acceptable in multiplayer, both for the opponents and for the player himself, who cannot signal himself to his teammates. Several players have reported this bug to Reddit, and it ended up reaching the ears of the developers, who reacted.

Kevin Johnson, community manager on the forum, indicated that the invisibility bug should disappear with the next update, 3.1. Unfortunately, Kevin Johnson did no output window given for the fix in question, but it is very likely that it will arrive in a few days if one relies on the release rate of the previous patches.

The latest episode of the franchise, Battlefield 2042 is an FPS exclusively multiplayer set in a dystopian future. The United States and Russia wage a merciless war by pitting each other up to 128 players on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, and 64 players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Upon release, the title has three major modes, namely Hazard Zone, All-Out Warfare and, most popular of all, Portal. Beyond technical concerns, the players complain about the disappearance of classes in favor of characters able to adapt quickly to situations. According to part of the public, this new direction harms team play, yet at the heart of the experience.
