At the WHO, an (insufficient) step to better prepare the world for a future pandemic


It is a glimmer of hope on the night of an endless pandemic and multilateralism in crisis. The adoption by consensus on Wednesday morning at the World Health Assembly meeting in special session in Geneva of a resolution to better prepare the world to face a future pandemic is rather a good surprise. Despite very different conceptions of international cooperation and national sovereignty, despite new geopolitical tensions due to the emergence of a world more multipolar than ever, the 194 Member States of the WHO saw the interest of act together to avoid another health disaster in the future.
