Game news Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: A “God of War” expansion announced soon? Update on the rumor

Released in October 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has already had two expansions, receives regular seasonal updates, and Ubisoft has announced that monitoring will continue into 2022. As 2021 draws to a close, here are the first rumors about what will follow begin to appear.

For a few years now, Ubisoft’s model has been clear: upon release, players get a dense game, supplemented with regular updates and free DLC. For those who wish to invest a little more, they can generally afford a season pass, giving access to future extensions. These, like The Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, can also be purchased individually, depending on the will of the players.

But Assassin’s Creed Valhalla won’t stop there, unlike the last two games. This summer, Ubisoft announced that support for the game will continue, and that players could expect to see new content coming in. It is not yet clear if these are extensions for sure, but Tom Henderson seems to know.. In a tweet published this Tuesday, December 7, he indicates that a new DLC will arrive in December, referring to a potential announcement at the Game Awards. More interestingly, he states that an extension should point the tip of its nose in March 2022, with a lifespan of 40 hours! According to its sources, this expansion has gameplay eyeing God of War’s side, whatever that might mean.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: An Expansion

If we refer to what we saw in the last God of War (2018) and what we should find in God of War: Ragnarok, we could imagine a more narrative and linear extension, interspersed with long combat sequences in the third person. But the comparison with the license of Sony Santa Monica could refer to the Nordic context, or to the environments crossed. So we just have to wait for new information to appear, or for Ubisoft to make an official announcement.
