Game news The Division Heartland: Game modes, gameplay, enemies… the latest details on the game from Ubisoft
Announced early last year, The Division Heartland is the new installment in Ubisoft’s acclaimed franchise. Unlike the previous parts, this one will be free-to-play and the information is still light. Nevertheless, the insider Tom Henderson has just announced himself by bringing some very interesting details.
Designed by Red Storm Entertainment, Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland is set to take place in a small town and feature close combat. Called Silver Creek, the latter would integrate a base of operations within an abandoned ice rink. For the gameplay, Heartland would essentially be based on a mode called Storm which would be based on a PvPvE experience. Concretely, this means that players would have to compete on a map, while having to fight against an enemy AI. It would thus be a question of survival and crafting in a fight ending in an evacuation. Moreover, the other mode is called Excursion (or Expedition) and would take the outlines of a tutorial.
BATTLE ROYALE IN THE OUTLINE?
According to Tom Herderson and the site Xfire.com, Silver Creek will be a loot-rich open world that takes on the concept of “contaminated gas” from the Battle Royale. Namely, an area becomes impassable as this threat expands. The particularity would reside in the fact that this gas could arise randomly from several places, considerably shaping the reaction of the players and their movements. It would thus be possible to create gas masks. The game should have three classes (Weapons Specialist, Medic and Survivor) for a total of six characters, for as many types of enemies managed by the AI.
For the time being, no official date has been given by Ubisoft, but Tom Henderson indicates that development is progressing well and that it would even be more advanced than that of Ghost Recon Frontline. To be continued !
