Spanish justice has confirmed the heavy sentence of Youtubeur ReSet, guilty of having shot and then broadcast a video in which he humiliated a homeless man, in Barcelona, in 2017.
The Spanish Supreme Court confirmed on May 31 the sentence imposed in 2019 on YouTuber Kan-Hua Ren for “attacking moral integrity”, guilty of having humiliated a homeless person in a video published on his Youtube channel. The case dates back to 2017. The young man, known under the pseudonym of Resethad filmed himself in the streets of Barcelona offering a package of cakes to a homeless person.
Youtube video turns to humiliation
But the influencer, whose Youtube channel was then followed by thousands of people, thought it would be interesting to replace the cream with toothpaste. A joke that had caused the homeless man to gag, and more than inappropriate comments from the young man: “I may have gone a bit far, but see the positive side, at least it will help him brush your teeth”…
A heavy condemnation
This May 31, the Spanish judicial institution therefore decided to impose a heavy sanction on Kan-Hua Ren by confirming the heavy sanction of 2019. Reset was given a 15-month suspended prison sentence and banned from having a Youtube account for 5 years. But the young man, who had pocketed just over 2,000 euros in advertising thanks to his video, will above all have to compensate his victim up to 20,000 euros.
