Motion of confidence for Boris Johnson: the British Prime Minister confirmed

The motion of no confidence against Boris Johnson determines the future of the British Prime Minister. The results of the vote fell this Monday, June 6, 2022 shortly before 10 p.m.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was briefed on the result shortly before it was announced. The whole process is overseen by Sir Graham Brady, who chairs the 1922 Committee and who told the Prime Minister yesterday that he would face this vote, reports the BBC in its dedicated live.

The results arrived. The deputies voted with 211 votes for the motion of confidence and 211 against. After the vote of parliament, Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister is therefore confirmed in his post. He should continue to perform his duties for the time being.

The head of government, whose authority is disputed mainly because of the public scandal of “Partygate”, had to muster the votes of at least 180 of the 359 Conservative MPs to remain in office.

Boris Johnson, who won the 2019 general election by a wide margin, has been under constant pressure since the twisted revelations about the booze parties he and members of his cabinet attended in Downing Street and at his official residence when the whole country was subject to strict sanitary confinement.
