Announced more than three years ago now, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum returns to the spotlight today to announce the big news: the title finally has a release date, and surprise, it’s coming soon.

On March 25, 2019, Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon revealed that they were working on a Lord of the Ring game. Better, the two companies confided at the same time that this brand new production was going to put Gollum, the strange character of Tolkien’s universe, on a pedestal by offering him the main role. Three years later, we learn that this epic which begins in the jails of Barad-dûr, the residence of Sauron, has just obtained its release date. Indeed, it is the official account of the game which has just shared the news with us: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will land on our machines at the start of the school year, either from September 1, 2022.
The game will also be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, we will have to wait to see the title land on Nintendo Switch since Daedalic Entertainment has just announced that this version will be available at a later date.

To celebrate this great moment, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum finally gets a jacket. What we can see by looking at the latter (available below), is that Sauron will obviously have an important place in this adventure.
Incidentally, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum chronicles the adventures of Gollum that take place behind the scenes of the early chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring. The title offers us to cross many iconic places of the saga after he lost his precious ring. To do so, like Styx, Gollum will obviously have to use his agility to be discreet and use all his cunning to gain the upper hand over his opponents. Throughout the adventure, also note that our friend will also have to face his alter ego, namely Sméagol. During these sequences, the player will indeed have the choice to fight this double personality or to let it conquer him.
